How we've helped

I first met Dr. Haider 5 years ago when our son was 8 years old. He suffered from horrible night terrors & anxiety since he was 3. We saw a number of doctors & therapists but sadly nothing helped until we found Dr. Haider. Through weekly intensive therapy, she literally saved our family! I could write an entire novel on how she worked tirelessly & selflessly in helping our son overcome this horrible affliction. She did it with kindness, love & unending support. Even when she moved, she continued to keep up on our son’s progress in school & everyday life. I cannot begin to thank her for her dedication & am forever in her debt. She is an amazing doctor & an even better human being. Look no further for an incredible therapist!

I don’t know where to begin about Dr. Haider... She has changed our lives. After trying several different therapists with different strategies and techniques, my husband and I were still at a loss as to how to help our struggling child. As soon as we had our first consultation with Sarah, we knew she was different. Sarah immediately recognized our challenges, knew what we needed, and laid out an initial gameplan for getting our family on track. It was amazing to walk away from our first session with some concrete things that we could put in place right away. Having a blueprint for exactly what to do in specific situations has been so helpful for us so that we are not struggling in the moment with what to do. Sarah is interested in what goes on outside of our sessions, so she can get a complete picture and help us better parent to our child's specific needs. Sarah genuinely cares about our family and is clearly very invested in our success. She has been available to us, via phone, email, Skype, etc., whenever we have needed her guidance. Dr. Haider routinely goes way above and beyond what a typical therapist would do for a patient in terms of the time and energy she invests. “Dr. Sarah Haider, put simply, is the best. She is a pediatric psychologist specializing in OCD and all anxiety related disorders. She saved our daughter and our family.

When our very young daughter was diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder by our exemplary pediatrician, our doctor immediately referred us to just ONE expert psychologist: Dr. Haider. Our pediatrician was adamant that we see Dr. Haider, and only her, because Dr. Haider was the ONLY psychologist that our pediatrician ever found, in our very large city, who consistently treated pediatric anxiety disorders effectively...successfully.

Dr. Haider expertly diagnoses disorders and explains these disorders and their symptoms so that the patient and the family can understand. She devises effective treatment quickly and is able to tailor therapy rapidly as symptoms change.

Dr. Haider’s extensive training and experience cannot be matched. She is an expert at CBT and ERP, the scientifically proven method of treatment for OCD. Her experience and expertise enables her to both educate and include the entire family system into the ERP therapy. We were continually amazed at her skill in adjusting exposures during therapy sessions to meet the immediate changing needs of our daughter’s disorder to help her get well. She rated obsessions correctly and prioritized them in order to gradually build exposures from little to big making our daughter’s treatment a success.

Dr. Haider is truly amazing at what she does. Her kindness, caring, and modesty is icing on the cake. We need more psychologists as exemplary as Dr. Haider. We highly recommend her.”

I can't tell you how much it means to us to see Izzy so happy and free after being wrapped up in worry and anxiety for the last few years. Thank you. It's the most liberating feeling for us as well. Going through [her original list of symptoms] was giving me flashbacks to the old days. Almost every morning I would be trying to get her to school, already late, forcing her to put on shoes while she screamed at the top of her lungs about wrinkles in the socks. So many times I carried her to the car like a baby while she screamed because there was no alternative. Getting her dressed and out the door was so exhausting and emotional that by the time I got to work at 8:30 AM, it felt like I'd already spent all my energy for the day. And it was tough on her too. It's like a whole new world where those dark days disappeared. I can't tell you how grateful we are for the positive changes Dr. Spiegel brought to our life and our family.
